Million Dollar Makeover

This past Thursday night I went to the launch of a new show that will be airing on Rogers Television called "The Million Dollar Makeover" The pilot episode will air on Rogers December 19th at 8pm. I recommend you watch it!

People write in with stories of families or people that deserve a makeover. The pilot episode features a phenomenal woman who has battled with ovarian cancer. Her friend wrote in asking the team to makeover her friends bedroom, since she spends so much time there in bed. The team surprised her at her home, whisked her off in a limo to a B&B for the night. The next day they were off to the spa, picked out a new outfit, hair, makeup etc. While she was away, the team was making over her bedroom. We watched the episode...then they cut it short making us all tune in to see the final results. I can't wait to watch it!

The show is based on giving you a million dollar makeover, on a shoestring budget. I've mentioned before the great women's networking group that I belong to, POWE (Power of Women Exchange), well, we've decided to adopt the next Million Dollar Makeover episode, where two little girls are getting their bedrooms re done, they are having a hard time as their mother is dying from Cancer.

If you know of anyone in your community who could benefit from a special visit from the Million Dollar Makeover team and fits the deserving persons facing unforeseen hardships criteria please contact Daniel Murphy or producer, Jean-Claude Lafond at D.D.P. studios 905-240-2952 or email themilliondollarmakeover@rogers.com. For MDM sponsorship opportunities contact Ilse Kreimes at Rogers Television 905-436-4119.

Our family has been struggling financially for a few years. Debillitating depression has caused my husband to be overwhelmed. Projects that were started on our century home went unfinished. I had to move my children out, as there wasn't suitable plumbing. My brother got a head injury and he needed care, so we took him in. The place we rented, ended up being infested with mice, mold, and plumbing problems. I have pictures and witnesses to show this situation. I attempted to work with the landlord, then the city, and really the only solution was to find money to move again. In the last year I've had to move twice. My nephew got into a crisis and he needed a place to live. I've moved to a townhouse, so my children could have suitable housing. It is the first time ever my 7 year old has had a bedroom. I still have this home I am responsible for. My husband is now working on it, but this takes him away from earning an income. He is self-employed, and finds it very difficult with little money coming in. There are 2 homes to pay for on my full-time $32,000 a year income. If there is anything your program can do to help, it would be a miracle for us. I have been so overwhelmed trying to support family members, and juggle my finances. My credit has always been good, but things are deteoriating. I have been reaching out for help for several years, but to no avail. The home is quite big, all the rooms, except 2. The goal is to get it sold before we loose it. It is on the market, and we want to have the open house very soon. Thankyou for your consideration.
